elementor - v3.18.0 - 20-12-2023 *\/\n.elementor-widget-text-editor.elementor-drop-cap-view-stacked .elementor-drop-cap{background-color:#69727d;color:#fff}.elementor-widget-text-editor.elementor-drop-cap-view-framed .elementor-drop-cap{color:#69727d;border:3px solid;background-color:transparent}.elementor-widget-text-editor:not(.elementor-drop-cap-view-default) .elementor-drop-cap{margin-top:8px}.elementor-widget-text-editor:not(.elementor-drop-cap-view-default) .elementor-drop-cap-letter{width:1em;height:1em}.elementor-widget-text-editor .elementor-drop-cap{float:left;text-align:center;line-height:1;font-size:50px}.elementor-widget-text-editor .elementor-drop-cap-letter{display:inline-block}<\/style>\t\t\t\t<p>Building a circular economy is an alternative to the traditional linear economy, in which we maximise the value and use of resources, and then recover and regenerate products and materials.<\/p><p>Bay of Connections is enabling this transition through the following projects:<\/p><p><strong>Pathway to a circular economy in the Western BOP sub-region<\/strong><\/p><p>Bay of Connections has partnered with Tauranga City Council, Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council to explore opportunities for advancing the circular economy in the Western Bay of Plenty.<\/p><p>The collaboration aims to set a path for more efficient use of resources and improved resource recovery in the sub-region across three key sectors \u2013 construction, healthcare and food &amp; beverage manufacturing.<\/p><p>To achieve this outcome, the project will assess the current level of circularity and highlight opportunities to advance the circular economy in these sectors, provide circular economy goals to guide businesses and councils, and define indicators and targets that could be used to measure success.<\/p><p>While the project is limited to the Western Bay of Plenty, the outputs and actions could be adopted by industry and councils across the wider region.<\/p><p><strong>XLabs Taster session <\/strong><\/p><p>Bay of Connections partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circularity.co.nz\/\">Circularity<\/a> to introduce local businesses to the circular economy through experiencing the award-winning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xlabs.nz\/\">XLabs<\/a> at a one-day \u2018taster\u2019 session in June 2023.<\/p><p>The session gave participants an opportunity to begin building capability to practically apply circular economy principles and solve the environmental challenges they are facing.<\/p><p><strong>Circular Economy in Aquaculture<\/strong><\/p><p>In 2020, the Bay of Plenty Aquaculture Group commissioned Circularity to explore how a circular economy can future proof the region\u2019s emerging aquaculture industry.
