A huge mihi to Amplify and the New Zealand Geothermal Association who have just pulled off the biggest Geothermal Week yet.

More than 2500 tickets were snapped up across 21 events, with over 100 companies represented, and more than 50 industry professionals inspiring students at 20 schools across four geothermal districts.

This year’s theme was “Energy Transitions in Aotearoa – The Role of Geothermal”, focusing on how geothermal can support New Zealand’s transition to a net carbon zero economy by 2050.

This aligns with Bay of Connections’ objectives to build awareness of the decarbonisation challenges facing our region and enable opportunities to accelerate sustainable development at a regional level, focusing on the urgent need to decarbonise the economy and respond to climate change.

Bay of Connections was proud to be a Bronze sponsor of Geothermal Week, alongside fellow sponsors and partners Contact Energy Ltd, GNS Science, MB Century Ltd, Cheal Consultants Ltd, Mercury NZ, Mitchell Daysh, Western Energy, Worley, Women in Geothermal NZ and the Thermal Explorer Regional Event Fund.
