With New Zealand transitioning towards a Net Carbon Zero energy future, identifying renewable energy options to power businesses is increasingly important for existing industry and emerging ventures. In support of this kaupapa, Bay of Connections is hosting the ‘Decarbonising Industry Workshop’ the first in a series of free workshops to highlight options for industry to decarbonise their operations.
The Decarbonising Industry Workshop will be held on Tuesday 26 July, 10am to 11.30pm at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology in Rotorua and will focus on the availability and benefits of geothermal heat energy (geoheat) as an option for industrial processes and production systems requiring heat up to 200°C.
The role of geoheat in the production of other renewable energy sources that could be used for industrial processes will also be highlighted.
Attendees will hear from existing operations that already use geoheat, as well as providers, and will have the opportunity to connect with people and agencies who can help explore geoheat further.
The workshop is suitable for business owners, managers, industry and community leaders, and others helping industry to transition to a Net Carbon Zero energy future.
Tea and coffee will be available on arrival from 9.30am, with a light, refreshing lunch at the end.
