February update

Welcome to 2016. Last year was a big one for the Bay of Connections, with significant developments on both the Regional Growth Study and the wider Bay of Connections sector strategies.

2016 is set to be another exciting year which will help cement the foundation for the future. We look forward to working alongside you.

Update on 2016 so far

Maintaining the momentum achieved last year is critical for 2016 and much has already happened over the past two months.

Aquaculture and Forestry sector meetings held last week

Freight Logistics met in Tauranga this week

The Management Group and Governance Group also met during February

An action leads meeting will be held on 1 March to progress the next phase of the Regional Growth Study – implementation

Regional Growth Study Forum – save the date

A Bay of Connections and Regional Growth Programme forum will be held at Mataatua Marae, Whakatane, on 6 July, 2016. This two-hour forum will provide an update on actions in the Regional Growth Study, an overview of the wider Bay of Connections portfolio, and provide a forum for stakeholders to provide direct feedback and input.

An official invitation with further details will be sent in June, but please pencil this date into your diary. This will an open invitation and we encourage you to please share with your own contacts. In particular, this will be a good session for anyone who is keen to be involved with the Bay of Connections and/or the Regional Growth Programme.
